For Kennedy, others, chemotherapy offers new hope for brain tumors Print E-mail

Sen. Ted Kennedy weathered surgery to remove a good hunk of a malignant glioma in the left side of his brain on June 2 at Duke University Medical Center. His doctors say  that after he heals a bit, he will embark on treatment combining radiation and chemotherapy.

Sen. Edward Kennedy underwent what his doctors called successful surgery Monday to treat his cancerous brain tumor, and told his wife shortly after that he "felt like a million bucks," a family spokeswoman said.

Shopping for that Memorial Day barbecue? The price of pork steaks may have stayed the same, but be prepared to pay more for the side dishes and other goodies. Overall, prices are up about 11 percent over last year.

Sen. Edward Kennedy left Massachusetts General Hospital Wednesday morning, a day after the world learned that the last surviving brother of the famed Kennedy clan had been diagnosed with a malignant brain tumor. His prognosis appears uncertain. Kennedy's diagnosis was announced three days after the 76-year-old senator suffered a seizure.
