While Barack Obama has several advantages over his rival John McCain, his presidential victory is by no means assured, says a leading Democratic pollster. To win in November, the Democrats have three tasks to accomplish, beginning with party unity.

Day one of the Democrats' four-day extravaganza has opened with a push for party unity. Party people are playing down the disappointment felt by some Hillary Clinton supporters that she isn't on the ticket -- in either the top or bottom slots. In the meantime, delegates, no matter whom they support, are getting ready to party.
