Leaders claim Buycott netted $45,000 for Whole Foods; store isn't saying Print E-mail

whole_foods100logo.jpgPosted 1:30 p.m. Tues., Sept. 8: Leaders of the St. Louis Tea Party Coalition say that their "Buycott'' last Tuesday at the Whole Foods Market in Town and Country brought in "over $45,000" to the store. But a spokeswoman for the store says those figures don't come from Whole Foods. "That's not a number we gave them," said marketing manager Marcia Whelan. Tea Party leader Gina Loudon says the figure is based on the receipts she's collected from some of the 1,000 shoppers that the group says flocked to the store last week, with each spending an average of $50.

I think the buycott idea is great; but, why do these lead people have to lie about the results. Let the results stand as they are. Why do these Teabaggers continue to lie? I was always told that if a person tells you a lie, then you should not believe anything that they say.

I think that's how the courts work. If you lie in court, your testimony can be stricken from records.

mikado

The MIKADO has a little list … were you on it?

The St. Louis Beacon rang in 2012 with a concert performance of Gilbert & Sullivan's beloved operetta, "The Mikado," at the Sheldon Concert Hall, and the Higher Education Channel was on hand to record it. Here is a link to the complete perfomance, which we hope you'll enjoy.

The musical direction of "The Mikado" was by Amy Kaiser; Craig Terry was conductor-accompanist. All proceeds from ticket sales benefitted the Beacon.
