Bray announced today that she is supporting former University City Mayor Joe Adams (right), who is among four Democrats in the Aug. 3 primary for Days' Senate post. Because no other party has candidates in the 14th, the winner of the Democratic primary will automatically win in November. Adams' Democratic rivals are state Reps. Theodore Hoskins, Don Calloway and Maria Chappelle-Nadal. Bray said in a statement sent out by the Adams campaign: "Joe has the experience and foresight to see the long-term impact of today's decisions....Joe has a proven record of fighting for clear communication between the people and their government. He'll be a voice for cities -- doing all he can for smart economic growth to create good-paying jobs. He'll fight to see that our schools provide a world-class education. Joe Adams will see that all people, no matter their race or religion or sexual orientation, are given the respect and rights all Missourians deserve." Bray just recently chose sides in the spirited Democratic contest in her own district, endorsing County Councilwoman Barbara Fraser over former state Rep. Sam Page. The victor in that primary will take on Republican John Lamping.

This Saturday was the debut of a new show by The Improv Shop that will bring out of town improv teams to St. Louis to play for — and with — a local audience. The Road Show brought teams "Everybody Grok" and "Felt" from Chicago.
We talked to Eric Christensen, producer of the Road Show and member of local improv team "Ted Dangerous"; Katie Nunn, member of "Ted Dangerous" and improv coach; and Melanie Penn and Ranjan Khan, members of local teams "Melanj" and "Magic Ratio"; about the St. Louis improv scene and why it's important to welcome teams from other cities to perform here.
