Posted 11:13 a.m. Fri., 04.23.10 - Teenagers who aspire to their own "Glee"-ful experience will have the chance to try out for St. Louis' own variation of the popular TV show.

team stages auditions

When: Saturday, May 1, 1 p.m.

Callbacks, Sunday, May 2, 2 p.m.

Where: Stages Performing Arts Academy, 444 Chesterfield Center

Information: www.stagesstlouis.com

Stages St. Louis' Team Stages, an a cappella, pre-professional singing group, is holding auditions May 1 for kids in eighth grade and older.

Minus the high drama, the vengeful Cheerios Coach Sue Sylvester and the accompaniment, the ensemble compares itself to "Glee" in that it gives budding young singers a performance vehicle. Throughout the year, Team Stages belts out the likes of "Mama Says" and "Everybody Rejoice" at corporate, civic and private events in the St. Louis area.

This past February, the group was chosen to perform at Disney World as part of the theme park's Magic Music Days.

Auditioning teens should have prior vocal training and performing experience, and be prepared to sing 32 bars of a song of their choice from any musical. Callbacks will be held May 2.
