The Black Rep's paid internship is a three-year program, open to those with artistic or technical training gained by working in the industry or obtaining a college degree. Assignments involve many aspects of theater from administrative to educational to performing in touring productions. Some interns have acted in mainstage events. All will assist in mainstage productions in crew work, concessions, merchandising and box office. They will take master classes taught by directors, performers and playwrights. The internships are full-time positions that allow no time for additional employment from August through May. The application deadline is April 30. Those who are interested should visit www.theblackrep.org or call 314-534-3807. Nancy Fowler Larson is a freelance writer who covers theater for the Beacon.
