Jewish Community Center gets set for annual used book sale
The annual, five-day used book sale at the Jewish Community Center’s Staenberg Family Complex runs Aug. 26-30. The sale will be in the complex’s Arts & Education building on Millstone Campus Drive in Creve Coeur.
The event will feature thousands of used books catering to every interest. The types of books available include: mystery, novels, biographies, politics, religion, sports, cookbooks, history, animals, art, science, science fiction, business, women’s issues, foreign languages, gardening, poetry, psychology, self-help and humor. CDs, DVDs and videos are also available.
On Sunday, the first day of the sale, visitors will be asked to pay $10 at the door to defray the costs of putting on the sale. This fee applies only to Sunday.
The books are priced from 50 cents to $3. On Thursday, the last day, visitors may buy as many books as they can fit into a bag for $5.
The center will be accepting donations for the sale through Aug. 15 at Epstein Hebrew Academy at 1138 Warson Road.
