Charities that pick up
Nothing like a visiting adult child who has decided to clean out her stuff to get a person looking for the next home for her treasurers.
We've already made the Goodwill - St. Vincent de Paul run with her gently used clothing (sometimes exceedingly gently used). But she also has said she will part with a couple pieces of furniture that were great finds at estate sales, but don't fit any more.
In searching for what to do with these, I found a list of charities that offer home pickup services for your donations. It's put out by the city of St Louis and clearly states that is does not claim to include every such group. But it is a great start.
If you use words like ruined, tattered or totally shot when talking about the item, find out when bulk trash pick up is scheduled in your area. If you say, I don't like the color any more or can't remember why you ever thought something was in style, go to stlouis-mo.gov/government/departments/street/refuse/recycle/charities.cfm and pass it on.
