New Line Theatre Off Line fundraiser
New Line Theatre will host a 1970s game show-theme fundraiser Aug. 4 to kick off its side division, New Line Theatre Off Line. The event will take place at 7:30 p.m. at the Regional Arts Commission, 6128 Delmar Blvd.
The new division will give the company’s actors space to experiment with side projects such as adult cabaret, musical improve, master classes and workshops. New Line actor Mike Dowdy will lead the Off Line branch under his new title of associate artistic director.
The fundraiser, called That 70s Game Show, will feature a live, 1970s-esque game show with New Line actors and choreographer as “celebrities” and contestants pulled from the audience. New Line artistic director Scott Miller and St. Louis Post-Dispatch theater critic Judith Newmark will also serve on the celebrity panel.
The evening will include food, a cash bar, a silent auction and raffles. Admission is $10 and reservations can be made by phone at 636-699-6689 or by email at offlinetix@gmail.com.
