I am a fan of good ideas and things that work.

If a company makes a product or offers a service that works "as advertised" and I have a need for it, they will find in me a customer for life.

Call me Oprah, I thought I would take this opportunity to share with you 10 of my current favorite things.

2004 Honda Accord - Best car I ever bought. Reliable and a great ride. After six years I still love to get behind the wheel. I feel like a smart consumer every time I do.

Sonicare Toothbrush - Takes brushing your teeth to a whole new level. I have been using these for almost 10 years. My dentist loves that I do, even though it means less work for him.

Dr. Bronner's Magic "All-One!" Soap - Claims to have thousands of uses that you can read all over the bottle's almost microscopic print including, apparently, Dr. Bronner's orginal philosophy of life. I like the minty scent in the tub.

African Black Soap - The first time I saw a black bar of this soap I didn't quite "get it." After using it regularly for the past few years, I have to tell you it's the best body soap.

Shea Butter - I love single ingredient things like this. It's made from the Shea tree nut. People claim it has many benefits, but I'm satisfied with its moisturizing properties.

Dogs - OK, not a product, but they're an awesome addition to almost any home. I got my current dog from the pound.

germ-X Antibacterial Soft Wipes - They come individually wrapped, which doesn't fit my usual Earth-friendly position. I have one in almost every coat and jacket I own and in my car. Great when you're on the go and trying to eat something. This IS cold and flu season, after all.

Yoplait Triple Berry Smoothie "kits" - This is awesome if you like smoothies because it removes all the hassle. Too much sugar, I know, but not prohibitive if you have a generally good diet. You buy a bag that has five smaller bags in it, each one makes two small, or one large, smoothie(s). Each bag contains frozen yogurt chunks, blueberries, raspberries and strawberries ... just add 8 ounces of milk or juice, blend and enjoy.

Tillamook Extra Sharp Cheddar - This tasty cheese comes from my home state of Oregon. It's aged for four years so you know it has flavor. Makes the best traditional grilled cheese sandwich ever.

St. Louis Beacon - Call me biased, but I prefer to find out about what's really going on in St. Louis.

Today's list was sort of a "catch all," but it has me thinking that I might get more specific in the future ... my favorite free things, favorite foods, who knows? Now it's your turn. Send me an email or leave a comment about one of your favorite things I can share.
