For AmeriCorps and College Bound
College Bound is recruiting people for AmeriCorps positions. AmeriCorps members are often recent college graduates who want to give back to their community and gain experience before going on to graduate school or other employment.
Through college bound, a person can become an AmeriCorps State member and coach high school (grades 10-12) or college students to prepare for and succeed in college, or someone can become an AmeriCorps VISTA member and help build our programs through volunteer outreach, education and awareness, student recruitment, admissions and enrollment and fundraising.
Full-time, 12-month service is required, from August 2011-2012. Compensation includes a living allowance ($9,500-$12,100), health coverage and a $5,350 education award that can be used to repay student loans or to fund future educational expenses. Federal student loans may be deferred for the duration of the 12-month term of service.
