Awards celebrate African culture
Since 1991, The St. Louis African Arts Festival has rejoiced in the richness of African culture and its impact in the United States and other parts of the Western World. On Sunday night, the festival will commemorate those who serve its mission with an awards ceremony at The Sheldon.

This year's honorees are John A. Wright, Legacy Award; James E. McLeod (posthumously), Inspirational Award; and Harambee Institute, Cultural Arts Award.
The Festival is a three-day event consisting of a marketplace, cultural demonstrations, children's village and performance stage, which took place this year from May 28-30.
Suggested attire for the awards is African or festive.
