A new generation
My nephew turns 21 today. My daughter is now the only one of the cousins under 21. And if that weren't enough evidence of advancing age, the next generation is hosting Easter dinner.
Did I really want a dozen or so people to come into my house for Easter? Did I want it be clean enough so that my mother wouldn't gently say something about having enough time for house work?
No, I wanted my sister to host it, not her daughter.
How will this work, these role reversals? Will Deb and I have to do dishes, while the younger ones talk about jobs and family and vacation plans?
It's a new chapter. I'm just not certain I'm ready to turn the page.
